TRANSFERS
Well, I survived my second Transfers. I am staying in my area for at least one more moves. Which is what I wanted so that is good. I am getting a new companion. An Elder Field from Utah. I have never met him so I don't know too much about him so we will see how that goes. But I am excited I needed a change. I will be excited to serve with somebody new. I don't know this for sure, but my sources tell me that this moves will be 8 weeks instead of 6 because if not we would move a week before Christmas. So I will be in this area until like a week after Christmas. Well, I guess I could be here longer but that is when the next transfer is.
This Sunday we had a good Sabbath Day. We were able to Confirm Joel, so that was really cool to kind of seal things up. The young Men's President in the ward confirmed him and did a good job. Then Sunday night the missionaries in our ward (us) put on a Fireside. It was AMAZING. The spirit was strong. It was all about the life of the Savior, and it was excellent. There wasn't as many people there as we wanted but it was still well worth it. I had asked Sister Sharpe to sing because Elder Greer said that she was a good singer. She sang 'I Stand All Amazed' and it was Beautiful she sang like an angel. Then me and Elder Ridge (ZL) and another elder sang a trio of 'Nearer My God to Thee' But we all had solos and harmonized really well together, and it was very good number I thought. But anyways it was a good night and everybody there was saying how good it was. We got a Less Active, Ambrose, out to it and so that was good as well.We saw Rose and Joe again this week and they are doing much better, it has been over a week now with no drink so we are excited about that and hopefully they will keep going strong.
One other Miracle this week was me and Elder Greer were trying by a few call backs in a couple of areas that we had tried by last week. So, we were walking to another area kind of a long ways away (25-minute walk) and it came to me a potential we had received the week before. I was prompted to go by this potentials house. Now I have only met this guy once talked to him on the street and got his address, but we talk to so many people each day that I would have never remembered him on my own. So, I told Elder Greer we needed to stop by this guy's house. His name was Frank. So, we stop by and he says 'come in come in I was expecting you last week' so we went in and met his girlfriend and there we continued to teach them the first lesson about the restoration. They are living together but not married and they have three kids together. She is Irish, He is African. Anyways they then told us that they were looking for a church that they could go to as a family. He was Anglican and she was catholic. But They wanted something that they could all do as a family. Then we talked about the Book of Mormon and they said that they would read from it and pray and we could talk to them about it the next time that we would come. Then they asked a lot of questions and after everything that we explained to them they just said, "I already believe that." So, then the lady, Theresa, said we want to come to church but we want you to come over a few times before so we know more, and we will know what is going on at the church. It was just amazing all the way around. They are the most prepared people I have seen. Now I know we've only been there once so it could not work out but I am so excited to work with them. The Holy Ghost leads you where you need to be!!!
Well, The Big Election is Tuesday it will be interesting to see who wins, looks like Obama but you never know.
