3 More Days
Well, Hello Everybody,
It has been another crazy week here in England. Crazy but good. I got quite a few letters this week so that made it a ton better than last week. On Thursday we went TRACTING! The first hour was the most depressing hour of my life. But then after that first hour we were able to teach a lady the first lesson. We couldn't go into her house because her husband wasn't there, so we just stood right there on her doorstep and taught her the lesson. It was an amazing experience kind of my first real missionary work. Nothing special really happened we gave her a pamphlet and a pass along card with our number on it but still after that it was a happy day. We learned to get past all the people who didn't want to hear our message and just search out for that one who did want to hear it. We talked to another older lady for a long time as well, so it was a good day. At first, I was really nervous because they split up me and my companion so that I could go with a German who didn't know hardly an English, because he is going back to Germany for his mission. My companion now is German, but he speaks pretty good English and is going to the England Leeds Mission. So anyways I was kind of nervous about that because I was used to teaching with my other regular companion. But it went well I don't think my German companion said one word at any of the houses we went to I taught everything and talked to everyone so I kinda had to learn how to do the door approach thing all on my own. It made me a stronger missionary to be able just to step up and talk to everyone. It was sad because you could just see in people eyes that they were not happy, and I just kept thinking if you would let me for 5 minutes, I could change your whole life. But I guess that's why we have agency we have to choose for ourselves. We went to town on Tuesday for PDay we walked about a mile and a 1/2 to get there but it was a cool little town, Chorley, the houses and businesses and churches were all really old, so they looked really cool. But everybody has been telling me "You have to have the fish and chips in England" so we went into town, and I tried it. The fish was AWESOME. It was the best I've ever had. It reminded me of being in New Zealand they just rolled it up in Newspaper and gave it too you like that, but it was way better it was really good. But then we just went around to a few shops and things.
Yesterday I passed off our third big objective. Me and my companion taught a lesson to the MTC president's wife. It went really, the spirit was really, really, really, strong and I could tell that she could feel it and that my companion felt it and it was just radiating in the room it was another awesome experience.
Well mom they have a health organization over here that all the missionaries sign up for and so I will get my pills through them. They won't let you send me my pills. But Sister Pestridge, 1st counselors wife, said that they were like nothing to get them here like maybe a pound or two so it will probably be cheaper to get them her anyways, so you won't need to worry about sending my thyroid pills.
Well like I said we only have three more days, YES!!! We fly out pretty early on Wednesday morning I think sometime between 5 and 7 so that's gonna be kinda late for you guys but I will still try to call at the airport if that's allowed. President just asked me if I would be our group leader over there so I'll have to get our plane tickets and everything, but I think maybe I should still be able to call and stuff so maybe I'll wake you up on Wednesday.
Well, the cookout on Monday sounded fun. Jamie good luck on the house I will keep that in my prayers. It's sad there wasn't more people at the Sherwood reunion. It's because I wasn't there, what can I say.
Well thanks this week for the letters Dad and Jamie who sent me two each and then Lindsay, Jeanette and Family, and Jennie G. thanks a ton they really do mean a lot I usually read them 3 or 4 times the first couple of days after I get them. Then I had an email here from Wyatt, Sister Bigler, Aunt Oona, Aunt Marsha & Jamie so thanks for those emails they brightened up my day today. MOM YOUR IN BIG TROUBLE!! After all the slack you gave me about writing you every week and I didn't even get a letter from you this week.
For some reason some of the people that I email it doesn't go through so if you don't get an email don't get crabby, Wyatt. and Dads doesn't go through either and sometimes other random ones so I'm not trying to leave anybody out. Well, the next time I write you all I will be in Ireland!! I'm so excited I hope you guys have a great week and are happy. I LOVE YOU MOM.
